8 Month Program working with the 8 Venus Gates (which represent the 8 chakras) as she touches the Moon each month between her rise as evening star on the 17th of February, and the start of her retrograde cycle on the 3rd of October (from which point she slowly descends back to morning star). These Gates mark key points in her journey and allow us to work with the ascending channel of energy she creates as she rises in the night sky as she calls energy back into herself, and grows in lightness.
This is a period of time where she is worshiped at Venus Hesperus, holding the light of the Sun as it sets well into the evening. Remember that Venus is a Tantric Guru, who blesses us to know the world by moving through it. As she expends her energy as the evening star we are invited to shed light upon the ignorance of desires as well as aversions, to come to witness our own karmic tendencies as well as receive the wisdom of that particular longing that she stirs within us. This is done by tracing the 8 gates with the 8 chakras in the body and calling back the power we are ready to hold in these centres with each gathering.
Over 8 monthly gatherings – when Venus + the Moon meet - we will sit in circle and work in embodied meditation to receive her wisdom, understand her mythology through her incarnations as Inanna (as well as Ishta + Isis) and honour her cycles from within. Each meeting we will work with the particular Venus gate being activated and its chakra through the mythology of Inanna, Isis and Ishtar. In this particular sequence of 8 gates we will be working with a particular Chakra, as well as with the stellar (Nakshatra) influence that falls with the Venu-Moon alignment (as well as the Goddess asteroids). To help weave a mythology relevant to this particular time, to this very cycle and to the women in circle. In particular we will be working with the Inanna and the gates that this Goddess rises through as evening star.

On our first meeting we will work with Venus on the first night of her rise as Evening Star. This year falls in time with the Aquarius Solar Eclipse. This first gate represents the base chakra, where Inanna reclaims her royal robe, and where we are called into a place of resurrection, power – as well as handing life over to the flow of destiny. Her rise and meeting with the Moon will occur in alignment with the North Node, as well as the asteroid Pallas Athena – marking her entry into the evening as one that brings with it the power of healing and shows us what is being resurrected within.

The second activation is a big one, it will occur in Pisces aligned with Kali + Lilith in the final lunar mansion known as Revati – where Venus is Exalted. This gate represents a divorce and letting go of energy from Venu’s time as Morning Star. It is the call to work with ancestral intuition, truth, sacred sexuality, creativity and honesty. To embody the wild-self, and with that calling back intuition, inner trust, power and truth.

As Venus and the Moon meet for a third time they do so at the 29’ degree of Aries in Krittika Nakshatra, the home of the warrior mothers (The Pleiades), aligned with the fierce Goddesses Ate + Ceres. This is the place where anger, ire and conflict is given an outlet to create and move through the world in order to create be alchemised into harmony. This is a place of calling back our discernment, a gate which invites us to burn in order to purify, and to embody our creative capacity. This is the point where Venus is entering her maximum brightness.

Right after the New Moon in Taurus, the Moon will meet with Venus at the start of Gemini in alignment with Shiva (also equated to Osirius) lunar mansion known as Ardra (which is Orion). This is the place of storms, destruction and Gemini in its purest form represents the divine couple (not twins) and the love that connects these two. Here Venus is calling for us to explore relationship, to understand our destructive nature within them (particularly the battle between the mind + heart), to understand union, desire, seduction and what it is to meet the self in another body. We’ll look at the relationship between rage + forgiveness as well as the loneliness that lives within the heart and the completeness that lives within that too. Calling back power from past relationships, and representing the start of working for the month on the relationship to the self.

This is a particular auspicious meeting as the Moon + Venus meet Jupiter, the Guru of the Devas (angelic qualities) and a planet that represents the higher mind, guides mantra and speech, in its exaltation in Cancer. This will occur in the centre of the Cancer constellation known as Pushya (which is the beehive cluster). Here is a place where there is an activation of deep wisdom, of worship of the truth, devotion and deepening the connection to the divine within. Here we will be working with the higher intelligence of the throat chakra and awakening its ability to receive – with the fearlessness to speak what is true.

In July, Venus meets the Moon alone with the asteroid Magdalena (the Divine Mother) and the South Node (past life karma) in a part of Leo that is dedicated to soul contracts, relationships and Rnanubandhana (the karmic imprint of another within us) – known as Purva Phalguni (which is intimately related to the eyes). This is a place where we are called to explore the ways in which we can ‘blind’ ourselves with desire for and in relationships, and even to our own weaknesses. This month we will be working with energy of Venus to explore detachment and the power of discipline over the senses.

In the second last meeting, the Moon + Venus come together in the middle of Virgo in a lunar mansion known as ‘Hasta’ – the hands, which is ruled by the Sun God Savitur (who is the illuminated mind). This is the place where we meet the part of ourselves that likes to meddle, that finds it hard to trust the universal flow of life, and even the idea that it is all divine. At the same time this it the part of self that nurtures the creative soul, that refuses to live an uncreative life or give to the point of exhaustion. In this meeting we’ll explore the connection to the divine through the crown chakra, as well as the creative ‘will’ that lives within.

In our final Evening Star Circle, we stand in the shadow phase of Venus retrograde (which started on the 1st of September). Here Venus is in her position as Queen of Heaven (her height), and we start the process of completion as well as opening to lessons we are ready to relearn, understand and own. For our final circle together Venus will be in her own sign in a Nakshatra known as Swati, which calls us into the mind, into pleasure + pain, as well as an openness to understanding the world. She will finish her journey hear in a Rahu (North Node) ruled Nakshatra just as she started in North Node. Here we are called to make friends with Maya, to find joy in dancing with the divine and in trusting the self. (
For those wishing to continue the Venus Journey, there will be the opportunity to join in on The Underworld, which will run during the entirety of her Retrograde Cycle which sees her moving back to morning star. This next journey will start on the 3rd of October.

Monthly 2 hour Circle to work in meditation, to share the month that has been and embody the wisdom of what is to come. With replay available. This is timed with the 'Gate' which is when Venus + the Moon meet.
A journal design specifically for this journey for you to record wisdom, as well as reflect upon the astrology of that particular gate. To use used in Circle as well as in the weeks before we meet again.
A place to share experience, repeat meditations and reflect with the group over the 8-month journey together. This is the core of the community and a way of staying connected, asking questions etc. when we are out of circle with one another.
